SCLA Weekly Update- September 11th, 2015

Let's all take a moment to reflect on the lives lost on 9/11.

It was certainly a dark day for the United States.

May we remember all the first responders and innocent people and those who were left behind.

Back in the saddle

It have been a while since we have updated our SCLA Blog.  Sometimes it seems to get a little crazy and things fall through the cracks.

Upcoming events:

Our SCLA 9th grade retreat is coming up on August 5th and 6th.   Incoming 9th graders should plan on checking in at SCHS on the morning of the 5th between 8:30am and 9am.   If you have any forms or still owe any money that will be taken care of then.

Check here for the packing list: SCLA Retreat Packing List

One of the greatest parts of our retreat is our time on the tubing hill!  Don't miss out!  Be sure to PRINT the permission slip and bring with you on the 5th.  We will collect them at registration.  Don't worry if you don't have a printer- we will have additional forms at registration.

Permission slip:  Tubing Hill Permission Slip

The SCLA Ambassadors want to invite you to the 3rd Annual  Back to School pool party and potluck!!

MONDAY AUGUST 17th 7:15-9pm

This is a fun way to get back in the groove for school, find out a little more about SCLA events and relax at the pool!

10th grade- drinks
11th grade- salads

If you know of any volunteer opportunities that you would like to share, or if you have any questions,  contact Jacob Boettcher, our SCLA Volunteer Coordinator.

Thanks to all who volunteered to assist in making Chinese New Year a big success!  Senior Teagan Knechtel did a great job planning!   However, many people signed up to volunteer and did not show up.  It is important to follow through when  you volunteer so you don't leave us high and dry.  Please help us keep our commitments within the community by coming to events when you volunteer.

Big shoutouts to Seniors Matthew Carson and Trevor Bane, and Freshmen Jacob Boettcher for their extra efforts helping things run smoothly.

Longmont Humane Society is hosting it’s annual fundraising event Homeward Bound on March 21, 2015 at the Boulder County Fairgrounds. This is one of LHS’s largest fundraising events of the year. Homeward Bound gives us a chance to raise the funding needed, to continue providing the animals with excellent care. In order to make this event successful, we need the help of volunteers!

We have various opportunities still available for volunteers to help us make this event a success! We do ask that our volunteers be at least 16 years old, and if you are under the age of 16, a parent or legal guardian must be willing to volunteer with you.

Below are some of the opportunities we are still needing to fill.
